Some before & after renovation highlights of Lorne Avenue's total transformation are shown below.
In the media room, the walls were gutted back to studs and all the wood paneling and trim were removed. Extra insulation was added around the wood burning fireplace to keep the room warm during the harsh Canadian winters. The outdated wall lights didn't provide much lighting for this dark room so the wiring was rerouted to the ceiling and used for the pot lighting, which also served as accent lighting to the client's artwork. To bring even more light into the room, two German Velox skylights were added to the slanted ceiling, positioning carefully chosen to balance the room and give views of the sky and treeline. The heavy fireplace was cut back and a custom mantle crafter from baseboards to create a stylish custom mantle on a tight budget. Finally a fresh coat of white paint and accent grey for the mantel completed the gallery feel.
The wall dividing the kitchen and eating area was removed and structural beams inserted into the ceiling to create an open concept layout. The entry into the kitchen was also widened and dated entry heading removed. The old kitchen was gutted, and cabinets supplied by custom cabinet maker. Total renos installed the cabinets, rerouted the plumbing to the island sink and island dishwasher and completed all accent lighting to the cabinets and pendant lighting to the island. Finally, the back wall was tiled and crown moulding trim added.
In the family room all the popcorn ceiling was replaced with smooth finish ceiling and crown molding, new wiring done for pot lights and 4 speakers.Beautiful engineered flooring added with ornamental base board.
This humble room didn't start off as much but when we were done with it, you'd never want to leave it. Click on the after picture for more highlights of this showstopper master ensuite. All drywall was taken out to the studs flooring lifted up and all the plumbing done to accommodate shower, bath and double vanity. Finally Carrara marble tiles where installed.
